is a spatial designer with a soft spot for colours and materials, human behaviour and the things we take for granted.

Given Aimées education at the Art Academy of Rotterdam, she brings a rich foundation to her work as a conceptual and experience-focused designer. Currently employed as an interior designer for the educational sector, Aimées background lends depth to her work, enabling her to craft environments that not only engage the eye but also evoke meaningful interactions between object and user(s).

In her projects she questions how the space we surround ourselves with and interact with, affects us in certain situations and how space can contribute to the improvement of (our personal) development and wellbeing. Through research, analyses and experiment, her concepts and projects result to leave room for own interpretation, personalisation, are adaptive and close to the user.

“As designers we have been creating the world of the past, of today and are creating the world of tomorrow. Design is a key element in the environment we live in. The spatial environment will always be related to us, everything that happens around us and has an (in)direct influence on our feelings, actions and movement. Every design we make should be aiming for enrichment, improvement or development, in which sustainability and adaptability should be self-evident.

I believe, we can create better things in this world when we listen to each other, learn from each other, work together and interdisciplinary. Only under these circumstances we will be able to break boundaries.”
